Unemployment Insurance

If you are unemployed or partially employed, meaning you are working 3 days or less a week, you may be eligible for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA). Note: Click here to use the Department of Labor’s Benefits Rate calculator to estimate how much you will receive every week. If you are a yellow or green cab driver, use your net income and divide it by 4 to determine your quarterly earnings. If you are an app drivers, use your gross income from your 1099.

App Drivers UI

App drivers are eligible for New York State Unemployment. The Union has fought from 2016-2018 to win employee status for App drivers under Unemployment Law. We succeeded!

Yellow and Green Cab Drivers

Yellow and Green cab drivers who are impacted by COVID-19 are eligible for the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance or PUA.

Black Car Drivers

Black car drivers who are impacted by COVID-19 are eligible for the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance or PUA. Some Black Car drivers may be eligible for the State UI.
